The Alabama Supreme Court says judges in two rural counties were wrong to dismiss lawsuits filed by the state seeking to have three casinos declared public nuisances. By Associated Press, Wire. The Alabama Constitution prohibits lotteries and other forms of gambling, but lawmakers propose amendments every year that would allow voters to decide whether to authorize a lottery. The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that two lawsuits brought by the state against three casinos arguing that the gaming venues are nuisances to the public can proceed. Don’t call them slot.
